Our Shelter
Casa Carmel Shelter
For over 30 years, El Refugio has provided a safe haven for survivors of domestic violence. CasaCarmel is the only shelter of its kind in Grant and Hidalgo counties. Our shelter at 800 S. Robert Street in Silver City is open 24/7, 365 days a year, and services are free and confidential.
Casa Carmel is a secure place to rest, reflect, and heal. You'll have a private room of your own, a kitchen where you can cook and we have a play area for your children. Our staff are here to listen and help, with Spanish-speaking support available through El Refugio.
