On July 1, 2020 Vanessa Wilson (daughter of former Grant County doctor John S. Wilson) donated a WaterStep Bleach Maker kit to our program. Vanessa’s son Brandon Wilson who is the Special Project Consultant for WaterStep demonstrated to staff how to properly use the Bleach Maker. WaterStep’s Bleach Maker kit is used to produce a bleach solution to be used as a disinfectant and is made on site, easily and at a low cost. It is portable and uses only water, salt, and a 12V/DC power source. Generating approximately 1 gallon of bleach every hour. The kit can be operated using a car battery (which Brandon is shown using) or a power cord and an adaptor (which is included in the kit). El Refugio is fortunate to have been chosen to be one of the three organizations receiving this kit free of charge! A special thank you to Vanessa for choosing us and to Brandon who so kindly took the time to demonstrate the process! Brandon is heading to the Navaho nation to deliver and donate some of these kits. If you would like to know more or order one you can contact Brandon at 502-568-6342 or 646-465-4202.
